John Barber is a graduate of Temple Law School in Philadelphia. Upon graduation, he dedicated himself to 9 years as a criminal prosecutor in the Delaware Attorney General's Office. During that tenure, Mr. Barber prosecuted the entire spectrum of criminal charges in all levels of Delaware Courts: Misdemeanor offenses in the Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile cases in Family Court, and the entire range of adult felony cases in Superior Court, including drug offenses, white collar crimes, violent felonies, weapons charges, and Capital Murder. Mr. Barber is licensed to practice in all courts in the State of Delaware as well as the Federal District Court of Delaware.

Before going to law school, Mr. Barber served a 4 year tour as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He is a veteran of the invasion of Panama in 1989, Operation Just Cause, as well as the invasion of Iraq, Operation Desert Storm, in 1991. After serving his country, he attended and graduated from Arizona State University, and then obtained his law degree from Temple University in Philadelphia.
